Yin Yoga is a method of yoga that incorporates long held more passive postures, meant to nourish the body by stimulating chi flow to joints and connective tissue, blending it with pranayama and Chinese meridian theory. It is a beautiful practice that assists in bringing awareness more internally so that the body and mind can be more open and receptive, thus allowing for a more peaceful and balanced way of being. The yin practice integrates the physical, emotional and psychological aspects of the self in a subtle, encouraging and nourishing manner. |

In this workshop, we will explore yoga as a holistic healing practice in approaching body image and our relationship to food. We will explore how yoga and heart-opening asanas can help to cultivate a practice of listening to our intuition and learning to nourish ourselves not only through physical movement but also through being kind to our body. We will talk about specific types of foods that can support the yoga practice, glimpsing into the world of Ayurveda and the doshas, a well as learning how certain yoga poses can help aid in digestion and related discomfort. We will explore topics such as dealing with sugar cravings, vegetarianism, eating with the seasons, yin and yang foods, and what the deal is with the hype about gluten- and wheat-free diets?
