I discovered yoga about fifteen years ago in the backwaters of Australia, learning for the first time about meditation, connecting breath to movement, and listening to my body. In the classes I teach and in my own practice, I'm focused on individual anatomy, alignment, breath, flow, and the deep joy that emerges when a posture is done in a way that opens the body. I believe in the concept that we shape the pose to the person, rather than shaping the person to the pose - meeting people where they are at today, and helping them to discover their own habits, thereby unlocking more options, more freedom (in movement, in thought). After finishing the teacher training at Sankalpah, I began studying anatomy for yoga and breath centered yoga at The Breathing Project, and I continue to study (and take advantage of the unbelievable teachers in New York) with workshops in myofascial release, visually assessing the body, and others. I'm grateful to Isaac and Jude, Manorama, Leslie Kaminoff, Amy Matthews, my partner and co-teacher Adam, and so many others for their teaching and for their light.
