In search of a new workout routine that would inspire me, I decided to try a yoga class. From the moment I stepped onto the mat, I was hooked. I felt awake both physically and mentally. After a few years of taking classes regularly, I yearned to learn more about yoga and perfect my own practice. Under the guidance and tutelage of Mary Dana Abbott, Isaac Peņa, and Jude English in the Sankalpah's teacher training program, I rediscovered myself and learned the true meaning of yoga. At its core, yoga is about the process and not the product. The goal should never be the pose but rather the steps one takes to get to the pose. As a yoga teacher, I encourage my students to enjoy the journey. Each class focuses on strength, flexibility, and balance while the body moves through each breath and each asana.
