Isaac Pena

Isaac is the Co-Founder of Sankalpah Yoga. Isaac began practicing martial arts at the age of seven and was introduced to Zen meditation at the age of nine. Zen Meditation was his first experience with something deeper than the physical body. Isaac began his yoga practice in the mid-nineties taking daily classes from a wide variety of teachers.

Isaac has made several trips to Thailand since 2000 where he received certification to practice Thai Body work and also to instruct others in the art under the guidance of Chung Kal & Chaiyuth Priyasith. Through his experiences as a body worker Isaac is more able to meet people at their level and take them beyond their previous level of conditioning.

To expand his knowledge of the body's potential Isaac has been training for several years in Contortion with Jonathan Nosan and personally trains other contortionists and circus performers.

Sankalpah Yoga was born from Isaac & Jude's persistent inquiry into the practice of yoga and their desire to share more with their students. They also developed the Sankalpah Yoga Teacher Training. Our training focuses on how to really teach students with clear, specific instructions, adjustments and demonstrations, rather than just calling out poses. This not only prepares you to lead a class but also deepens your own practice.
